Thousands of students across the city are breathing a sigh of relief after receiving their GCSE results today.
Introduced in 2017, the new system grades students from 9 to 1 rather than A* to G. For comparison, a Grade 9 is above A* level, with grades 8 and 7 equalling A and above. Grade 5 is considered a ‘strong pass’ and grade 4 is a ‘standard pass’.
At Yewlands Academy, students waited patiently until 10am to collect their results.
